The 28-year-old Swedish singer-songwriter, who has released five albums including last year’s Midnight Sun and is currently on a world tour with a stop in Bangkok this November, shared her connection to Thailand in a TikTok video, stating, “Thailand raised me. It’s like a part of my childhood actually.”

Larsson, who won Talang, the Swedish version of Got Talent, in 2008, briefly lived on Koh Lanta with her family while her mother worked as a nursing assistant and her father served as an officer. She attended third grade at Sanuk, a Swedish school located on the island, and has returned to Thailand many times since, expressing her deep affection for the country. The school she attended has since put up a banner and poster celebrating their alumnus’ return and her continued success.
